Texas Conservation Effort Kicks Off Texas Independence Day

DALLAS, TX (WBAP/KLIF NEWS) – Kicking off Texas Independence Day…The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation is encouraging all Texans to get involved in conserving the wild things and wild places of our state with a campaign called “We Will Not Be Tamed”.

As part of the effort, TPWF has enlisted a group of Texan outdoorsmen and women who they hope will inspire more Texans to get involved. a public awareness effort was launched on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 2018. “We Will Not Be Tamed” is sponsored by Toyota and also includes the chance to win a truck or other prizes as part of a Sweepstakes.

JT Van Zandt, son of singer/songwriter Townes Van Zandt is one of the ambassadors, along with other notable folks like University of Texas Longhorn Football stand-out wide receiver Jordan Shipley, helping the foundation spread the word.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, the nonprofit funding partner for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the state agency that manages 95 state parks in Texas and provides for hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities across the state. The Foundation raises private funds for transformational projects that support conservation and outdoor recreation in Texas.
