Keller, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A Pitt Bull mix recently attacked a smaller dog at an animal shelter shelter. It happened at the Keller Regional adoption center.

An eyewitness, Glen Bulawka, recorded part of the incident on his phone and shared it with WFAA-TV.

He says he usually stops by the center to drink his coffee while watching the dogs play outside. On Saturday the Pit Bull mix and a Chihuahua were in the play area when the Pit Bull grabbed the smaller dog around the neck and wouldn’t let go.

Bulawka says he saw a lot of blood around the Chihuahua’s neck and thought it was dead. He says he pounded on the center’s doors to no avail, and eventually called police. A police officer eventually separated the dogs.

The Humane Society of North Texas takes full responsibility, saying that the dogs were left outside by a worker unattended. Officials say they will no longer permit groups of dogs to play together with a worker present.
