AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) –.Former gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis has been fined for failing to report a large chunk of campaign funds.
According to the Texas Ethics Commission, Davis and the Democratic group “Battleground Texas” did not report $3.4 million of campaign money in January of 2014, when Davis was running for governor. Instead, the money was reported months later in July.
That led to confusion, making it look like some donors gave to the campaign twice.
Both Davis and the group agreed to pay a sanction of $3,000 each, though the Ethics Commission’s report says neither admitted to any wrongdoing.
