GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF) – Garland Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in the rape of a young victim at gunpoint on Wednesday. Officer Pedro Barineau tells us police have video of both the suspect and his vehicle, described as a 2013 black Hyundai Elantra, four door vehicle. The suspect is described as a Black man between 5 foot 4 and 5 foot, 6 inches tall, with a short haircut, full stubble beard, skinny build, and wearing a faded black t shirt, black pants and boots at the time of the attack. Police say the victim was walking behind some businesses on Northwest Highway near Saturn Road Wednesday, when the suspect drove up, parked next to a dumpster, and pulled out a gun as the victim walked by. You are asked to call Garland Crime Stoppers if you have information about the suspect. Information may be offered anonymously. Barineau says Crime Stoppers will pay up to five thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.
