FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Texas Christian University has responded after a controversial Conservative podcaster challenged students to debate his decision that rape culture is a myth.
Steven Crowder set up a table near campus to record the back and forth.
This TCU student said while Crowder has freedom of speech like everyone else, it wasn’t a good idea.
“I would just say that even though that is his opinion this probably isn’t the best place to discuss it…considering all that we have going on right now,” she said.
Another student said she thinks it was a ploy for attention.
“I just think what is the point of riling everybody up… also he’s just getting everybody’s attention and that’s all he really wants,” she said.
In a statement, TCU released a statement that said Crowder’s opinions do not reflect the university’s and that it encourages students to use campus resources if affected by sexual assault.
