New Year’s Eve Shooting; Two Men to be Charged With Murder

DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Dallas Police indicate their own statements to police, in addition to witness and social media accounts, may have done them in.

An unidentified 34 year old man is dead, and two men believed to be working as nightclub security guards are under arrest and “will be charged with murder”.  Dallas Police say they were called to the 8500 block of Stemmons Freeway just before 3 am on January 1rst to investigate a reported parking lot shooting.  The lot was apparently being used for overflow parking for a nearby nightclub.

Officers indicate after an altercation in the parking lot, the suspect entered his white pickup truck, ignored the two men’s commands to stop, and died from several gunshots after the pair opened fire.  The man is not identified pending notification of his family.

Police say 27 year old Eric Hansen and 25 year old Daterrious Haggard waived Miranda rights and made statements to police admitting firing their weapons at the victim.  Detectives are reported to have been made aware of a video circulating no social media and allegedly captured a significant portion of the incident.  Police say based on their interview and all other evidence, Haggard and Hansen will be charged with murder.

Police are asking anyone with information in the case to call Detective McDaniel at 214-671-4236.
