DENTON – WBAP/KLIF – Denton Police say a Friday morning crash that resulted in the hospitalization of three people caused arrest of the driver that is believed to have started a chain reaction crash. Police say the driver of a GM C Yukon towed from the scene was found in possession of a handgun, and the truck he was driving had been reported stolen.
Police say convicted felon 45 year old Derrice Adams has been booked into the city of Denton Jail after release from the hospital. Police say while holding Adams on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, a warrant was obtained on a charge of Aggravated Robbery.
Police say they believe Adams stopped in the middle of northbound Interstate 35E near State School Road, causing two other vehicles to plow into the alleged stolen vehicle he was driving.
