Governor Abbott in Richardson: discusses a bold agenda to transform Texas

RICHARDSON (WBAP/KLIF)- Governor Greg Abbott discussed a bold agenda for the Legislative Session at a Richardson Chamber Annual Meeting Monday.

Governor Abbott talked about tacking emergency issues like property tax reform, increasing teacher salaries , school safety, disaster recovery and mental health services. “The state of Texas is going to be adding a lot more money to our education system and we are going to invest in improving strategies,” Abbott said. He said mental health screenings for students and increasing teacher salaries to six figures are some ways to improve the system.

Abbott also expresses his satisfaction with Texas’ growing economy and its meaningful benefits.

“From aerospace to cyber security, financial services to manufacturing services, fortune 500 companies to small start ups…the diversification has added tremendously to the breath and the strength of the Texas economy,” Abbott said.

Abbott credited some of this job growth to the Texas Enterprise Fund, a fund used for ensuring business growth and new jobs.

He continued to mention that Texas is at the best it’s ever been in the history of the state but said there’s far more that we must do if we want to continue to elevate Texas.
