Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson was the first woman and first African-American to represent Dallas in Congress when elected to the U NS House of Representatives in 1992.  Before that, she served as a member of the Texas U S House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, and is the most senior Texan on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.

Union Station was built in 1916.  It’s served by DART and the Trinity Railway Express as well as Amtrak.
