Texas Rangers and Choctaw Casinos & Resorts Announce Multi-Year Partnership for Globe Life Field

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The Texas Rangers and Choctaw Casinos & Resorts today announced the details of a multi-year partnership that includes significant branding at the new Globe Life Field. “The timing couldn’t be any better,” said Janie Dillard Senior Executive Officer of Choctaw Nation Oklahoma.”They are opening in 2020 we will open a brand new resort in 2021…connecting that together working with North Texas, I knew this was something we needed to do,” she said.

The agreement extends the partnership that the Rangers and Choctaw Casinos & Resorts have had since 2010 at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Rob Matwick, Rangers Executive Vice President of Business Operations said this partnership also brands Choctaw Oklahoma as the official and exclusive casino of the Texas Rangers and could possibly open doors for sports betting in the future. “Is it a precursor to it? I think we are a long way away from that in Texas but as we know in Oklahoma there’s a different set of rules and I know many people from North Texas spend their time at the Choctaw Casino and when the Rangers are back in town we want our fans to come back to Globe Life Field,” he said “and If someday law makers pass gambling in Texas we will have those resources with Choctaw.”

Choctaw’s branding at Globe Life Field will include prominent large format, channel cut signage on the left field fascia, static home plate signage, and exclusive branding in the Rangers’ first base home dugout as well as numerous other assets.

The new Globe Life Field which is being built as a public-private partnership between the City of Arlington and the Rangers, will not only be the team’s new home but also a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue that will include capabilities for hosting high school, college and international sports as well as entertainment tours. Globe Life Field is expected to open in March 2020 in time for the Rangers’ season.
