Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – An armed man was critically shot by an Mansfield police officer overnight.
Police say the man was a customer at an IHOP around 2:30 this morning when he began waving a gun around. Other customers and restaurant employees were safely evacuated out the back door.
Police say the man also followed behind, but an officer placed himself between the suspect and the others.
After failing to follow police commands the man was shot and remains in critical condition at a hospital. The incident happened at the IHOP location at 287 and Debbie Lane.
At the request of the Mansfield Police Department, the Texas Rangers are investigating.
