Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A week to the day after the shootout between a masked gunman and federal agents outside the Earle Cabell Federal Building in downtown Dallas, police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle near the building this morning.
Several hours later, police issued an ‘all clear. Several streets downtown were closed and buildings evacuated as police and a bomb squad investigated.
Sergeant Warren Mitchell, Dallas Police says officers got to the Earle Campbell Federal Courthouse around 6:20 this morning after someone called the vehicle in.
“They entered into the bed of the vehicle an saw some wiring that looked suspicious them. At that time they called the bomb squad and set a parameter.”
Police say the driver was taking an extended break and just left the truck unattended — As of 9:57am, officers have yet to find him or her.
The streets have since re-opened.
