Dallas Police Must Have Uniforms, Gas Masks & Other Gear Ready During Guyger Trial

Amber Guyger, the police officer charged with manslaughter in the shooting of a man inside his Dallas apartment, has been fired from the department, according to a statement Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall.

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas police are not be permitted to request any more time off during the upcoming trial of former officer officer Amber Guyger.

She’s charged with murder in the death of Botham Jean, who was shot in his own apartment. The trial is scheduled to start on September 23rd.

Guyger was off-duty but still in uniform and says she shot jean because she thought he was a burglar.

In two different memos, officers were told they won’t be granted time off from the time the trial gets under way through at least the first week of October.

Detectives were also told to have their uniforms, helmets, gas masks, and other gear ready.
