Activists File Complaint Against DPD Chief Rene Hall After Police Oversight Meeting

Chief Renee Hall

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Activists are calling for Dallas Police Chief Rene Hall to resign in a complaint filed over her actions at the inaugural meeting of the Community Police Oversight Board earlier this month.

During the meeting things got loud and heated between attendees and police officers because there was no agenda item for public comment — though it was eventually permitted.

Activists took action against Hall for deploying an extraction team at the meeting — they were officers who used force on attendees who wanted to give public comment. During that time, Hall was surrounded by activists who told her that she was “violating the rights of the people.”   At the meeting Hall suggested that activists were acting like “animals.”

Some want Hall to resign; others want to meet with her.

There’s been no comment from the chief’s office, according to the Dallas Morning News.
