KAUFMAN (WBAP/KLIF News) – An overnight water main break forced the Kaufman Independent School District to cancel classes Wednesday morning.
The district initially tweeted that school buses and classes will be delayed for two hours so that crews could work to repair the break before ultimately deciding on cancellation.
According to the City of Kaufman’s Facebook page, the main ruptured at the intersection of South Washington Street and Fair Road, which also impact businesses and homeowners south of Highway 75.

Temperatures dipped below freezing Tuesday night but there have been no statements on whether that is what caused the water main to break.
The city estimated the repairs should take about four hours. There’s no word on whether classes will be cancelled for Thursday if more work is needed.
District officials said they would continue to update the community.
