Blue Alert Issued For Man Accused Of Killing Officer

Houston (WBAP/KLIF)  Did you get a Blue Alert on your phone Wednesday?  If so, you weren’t alone.  Millions of Texans received the alert on their cell phones.  The alert was sent out to warn residents about 21 year old Tavores D. Henderson who is accused of killing Nassau Bay Police Sgt. Kaila Sullivan Tuesday night.  While being handcuffed, Henderson broke free from Sullivan and ran her over in his car.  He’s still on the loose.  The Blue Alert was enacted by Former Governor Rick Perry in 2008.  It was created to let Texas residents know that a law enforcement officer has been killed or seriously injured and the offender is considered dangerous and on the loose.
