Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Dallas will shell out over $610.000 dollars in a settlement involving the police shooting of an unarmed man six years ago, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Then 19-year old Kelvion Walker was shot by Senior Corporal Amy Wilburn as he sat in the passenger seat of a stolen car with his hands up, according to witnesses.
Walker had gotten into a car driven by his friend, Reginald “Reggie” Robertson. The car had been stolen at gunpoint at a Diamond Shamrock gas station earlier that day.

The indictment of Corporal Wilburn in the case was believed to be the first Dallas Police officer to be indicted over a shooting in 40 years.
Wilburn was fired from the force after the shooting and was sentenced to 18 months probation in a plea deal.
