DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A 9-year-old girl is still in the hospital after being shot in a suspected act of road rage this week in Dallas.

Rubye Rhodes was shot while riding on I-35 E near the Manana exit when her mother, Diamond Dixon, said she honked at a man who cut her off in traffic before he slowed down and looked into her window.

“He looked mad,” Dixon said.

Rubye was shot in the stomach, but according to Dixon, after multiple surgeries it’s believed the girl will survive.

“The Doctor has told us several times that we’re lucky she’s alive,” Dixon said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Police.
