Despite post-Thanksgiving sales numbers that didn't meet expectations, we are predicted to have a profitable holiday shopping season.
Bud Weinstein an economist with SMU's Cox School of Business says some brick and mortar stores are losing business while others are doing very well.
"There's no question that internet sales are providing competition to brick and mortar. A lot of brick and mortar stores now have websites as well to peddle their merchandise."
He says the economy is strong and unemployment is down and that all points to good holiday retail sales.
