I got my hair cut a few weeks ago and got the dreaded news. My hairdresser of ten years is leaving me. Cue the violins…
Well, she’s not really leaving me. She’s leaving all her clients, because she is getting married and
moving back home to Oklahoma. The news hit me like a ton of bricks and it was even tougher for her to tell me. She told me she had broken up with 7 other clients that day, and it was exhausting. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely happy for her, but not happy for my hair.
My hairdresser has been with be through thick and thin. When I started seeing her, my thick, curly hair was extremely short. She convinced me to grow it out. The painstaking process took months. Many times I sat in her chair and tried to convince her to cut it short again. She refused and I am forever grateful. Ten years later, she is the only person I trust to cut my long locks of hair. I realize this is not a life or death situation, but it could spell the difference between a good hair month or a bad one. I guess I will have to start a new relationship with a new hairdresser next month, but I’m not happy about it.
Stay tuned… I may be wearing a hat a lot this winter!
