AUSTIN (WBAP 24/7 NEWS) – Governor elect Gregg Abbott says his administration's top priorities will be bolstering early education, securing the Texas-Mexico border, cutting taxes and fixing the state's clogged highways.
The current attorney general says he'd like to see every Texas child reading and doing math at grade level by the third grade. He would also like to improve roads without raising taxes, fees or tolls.
Abbott takes office January 20th.
The next session of the Texas legislature opens a week earlier.
