North Texas Congregation Celebrates Return of Cuban Prisoner

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF 24/7 NEWS) – Members of Congregation Anshai Torah will send cards to Alan Gross welcoming him back to the United States.

The sister of Gross is a member as was Gross's mother before her recent death.

Senior Rabbi Stefan Weinberg says they have held prayer vigils for Gross and had a table set aside for Gross for upcoming Hanukkah services.

"That will be transmitted to an expression of thanksgiving so we look forward to having all kinds of cards welcoming him home," said Rabbi Weinberg.

Gross has been imprisoned in Cuba for five years until his return home on Wednesday.

Weinberg says over the years the Congregation has tried to be as supportive as possible to Gross's family and to Gross himself long distance.
