AUSTIN WBAP 24/7 NEWS – When the Texas legislature convenes next month, supporters of a ban on texting while driving plan a full court press.
The idea of doing away with texting while driving was approved by lawmakers in the last session but the bill was vetoed by Governor Rick Perry.
He said the law would micro manage personal behavior, but this time things could be different.
Already a number of cities across the state, including Austin and San antonio have ordinances that ban handheld devices behind the wheel.
It's also against the law in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
