New Texas Governor

AUSTIN (WBAP 24/7 NEWS) – A changing of the guard in Austin.

Republican Greg Abbott will be sworn in Tuesday morning as the 48th governor of Texas.

The state attorney general replaces Rick Perry, who held the office for 14-years.

Top issues for Abbott, education, transportation and securing the border.

The ceremonies will be held on the steps of the state capitol. That will be followed by a barbecue and then an inaugural ball.

Dan Patrick will also be sworn in as Lieutenant Governor.
