FLOWER MOUND (WBAP/KLIF 24/7 NEWS) A scam artist is calling the Flower Mound area claiming to be with the PD and is telling people he is collecting fines owed for red light camera violations.
Captain Wess Griffin tells 24/7 news there are not any red light cameras in Flower Mound and they would never collect fines over the phone.
Griffin says 21 reports have been made about the scam and one person turned over $2,000 thinking the caller was legitimate.
