STEPHENVILLE (WBAP/KLIF 24/7 News) – The prosecution and the defense have painted two very different pictures of Eddie Ray Routh the day he murdered Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield at a Texas gun range in 2013.
The Erath County District Attorney says Routh was troubled, drunk and high on drugs but he knew right from wrong.
The defense says Routh was in the grip of a psychosis and thought if he didn't kill the victims, they would kill him.
Chris Kyle's widow was the first witness called to testify on Wednesday.
