Working Long Hours Can Lead To Risky Drinking!

glass-156878_640DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF 24/7 NEWS) – If you work those long 10 hour days, and then find you “need” that extra glass of wine after work every night, the reason is of course that 10 hour workday. The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health found when subjects worked those longer hours, they were 11% more likely to be heavy drinkers than those who punched in for no more than the typical 40-hour workweek. For the purpose of the study, “risky” drinking is defined as more than 14 alcoholic drinks per week for women, more than 21 for men.

Of course, you might wonder if working at home would make a difference, or if your job is highly rewarding, and you feel you deserve to celebrate. The study was published in the Business Management Journal in January of this year.
