Attorney Questions Officers’ Actions in Deadly Shooting

DENTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – The attorney representing the family of a 21-year-old University of North Texas student shot and killed by campus police has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday.

Ryan McMillan was killed in December after officers responded to several calls about someone knocking out car windows in a parking garage at Fry and Oak Streets.  He was reportedly threatened an officer with an axe.

Shortly after the incident, police released a video that backed up their side of the story.  The lawyer is expected to produce several witnesses that will dispute the police version.  She says the deadly shooting wasn’t necessary.
