DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Dallas hopes to find a solution tomorrow to the man-made rapid in the Trinity River. The city council will vote to seek bids on an answer to the dangers associated with what it calls the Standing Wave Project. There are 3 options being considered: modify the rapid, take out part of it, or remove it completely from the river. The U.S. Corps of Engineers says the feature is not safe and violates a permit. The standing wave was built with about $4M in bond money to give rafters and kayakers a thrill, but it was much more turbulent than anticipated. Dallas has until March 21 to respond to a demand by the corps with a solution.
