DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The oldest resident at the Dallas zoo has died.
57-year-old “Bon Bon” was the matriarch of the zoo’s chimpanzee troop. She was born at the Dallas zoo in 1958 and over the years had given birth to four babies.
Officials say she was a caring mother figure for all of the young chimps in the primate building.
She’d been in declining health for the past several weeks.
