Four Dead After Small Plane Crash

HOUSTON (AP) – Four people are dead after a small plane crashed near a Southeast Texas airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration reports a single-engine Cirrus SR-20 plane crashed Sunday morning near the airport in Navasota, northwest of Houston. FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford tells the Houston Chronicle the pilot of another plane spotted the wreckage of the plane in a wooded area.

The four people were not immediately identified, but included two children.

Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell tells KBTX-TV the crash occurred about a mile south of the Navasota airport.
