DALLAS (WBAP?KLIF News) A Dallas ISD teacher is fasting to make a difference. Curtis Ferguson is the “Teacher of the Year” at carter high school and a popular art instructor. He has now been on a hunger strike for 28 days, allowing himself to drink only water with a mixture of honey and lemon. He told WFAA it’s all to bring awareness to violent crime in Dallas. Ferguson says he lost 3 former students in separate murders this school year. He says his fast could stretch to 40 days if his message isn’t heard.
