DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A new synthetic drug has sent at least two north Texans to the hospital. One remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Kristina Domanski with the North Texas Poison Control Center at Parkland Hospital says people are buying the research chemical U47700 online and snorting or ingesting it. Domanski says U47700 is in the same family as morphine, codeine and heroin.
There have been no human trials with the drug. She adds anyone who uses it is taking a big risk.
