DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A total smoking ban on city-owned parks in Dallas will be up for debate on Thursday.

Fair Park and golf courses are included in the proposal.

Jim Henderson is a golf pro at Stevens Park Golf Course and he says while he supports a ban on smoking in parks, he thinks there should be exceptions.

“To tell 15-20% of our customers that you can’t have a cigarette or you can’t smoke, it going to be detrimental for business.”

Supporters of the ban claim Dallas is behind the times in regulating smoking in parks.

Regardless of the Park Board’s vote, it will be up to the city council to make the final decision.
