AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) – President Barack Obama is expected at South by Southwest in Austin Friday amid an open carry demonstration.
It’s not the first time pro-gun protesters have planned to march at the festival, but it is the first time a sitting president has been invited to speak.
C.J. Grisham, the head of Open Carry Texas, wrote in a statement on social media that he’s going to openly carry his rifle and hand out “literature.”
He later added he found out the president was going to be at the festival and it “may get interesting.”
The president is expected to speak around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
