Mayor Pushes ‘In God We Trust’ at City Hall

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The North Richland Hills City Council is scheduled to vote Monday night on whether to display the words, “In God We Trust” at their new city hall.

The phrase has been the nation’s motto since 1956, but these days it has become something of a politically correct football.

North Richland Hills Mayor Oscor Trevino told the Star-Telegram the idea is to remind council members of their moral and ethical responsibilities.

He points out they already have a prayer at the start of their meetings.

North Richland Hills could be the first city in Tarrant County to display the motto.

54 other cities in Texas have adopted the phrase.
