Dallas Police Want More Body Cameras

BODY CAMERADALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Police Department is working to get several hundred body cameras for their officers by the end of this year.

Deputy Police Chief Andy Acord explains the cameras will be very beneficial for the department.

“Officer training, officer safety, protecting the officers and citizens from any type of false allegations. It’ll also be a very good evidentiary tool as it relates to any type of critical incident that may occur in our city.”

He adds the plan is to buy a total of 1,000 cameras.
