WBAP – A young woman who left food cooking in her apartment kitchen Saturday afternoon when she went upstairs to change her baby’s diaper accidentally started a fire that did extensive damage to her building in the Davenport Apartments complex near the Dallas North Tollway and Belt Line. The blaze started on the first floor, but rapidly spread into the attic. Firefighters managed to limit its spread, so only the original apartment was gutted. The woman and her baby managed to get out of the burning apartment without injury.
