PARIS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper is dead after a crash outside of Paris in Lamar County.
DPS said in a news release that Jeffrey Nichols, 27, died when he lost control of his patrol car on a county road and hit a tree.
Nichols had been with DPS since August 2011.
The crash is under investigation.
