Texas Troopers Offer to Help Dallas Police Fight Crime

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) A recent spike in crime in Dallas may prompt Texas state troopers to head to the metroplex. Governor Greg Abbott offered state resources to the city’s police department. A recent report shows the murder rate jumped by 75% and violent crime is up by 23%. That’s according to the Dallas Morning News. Police Chief David Brown  announced earlier this week he was going to move 600 officers to overnight shifts to help the situation, but changed his plan after the offer from the governor. Mayor Mike Rawlings supports Brown, but some associations have called for his resignation.
