WBAP/KLIF – Search and rescue teams are looking for a missing north Texas high school student who disappeared in the Gulf of Mexico. 16 year old Carlos Perez reportedly was swimming with a group of other students in the Gulf near Bob Hall Pier on Padre Island. When the group came ashore he wasn’t with them, and hasn’t been seen since. The surf at the time was described as rough, and searchers fear Perez may have been swept away. He is a ninth grader at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, and was in Corpus Christi for a Skills-USA competition.
