It began as a shoplifting incident at a Dallas Walmart.
An off duty officer was working as a security guard at the Walmart on St. Francis and Buckner, when he apprehended a suspect whom he believes to be shoplifting. This is when a small dispute began, and the suspect attempted to steal the officers gun.
He then took off and barricaded himself in the Lamplighter Motel for several hours.
Dallas police used gas to catch the suspect. He was later arrested and taken to jail.
