WBAP/KLIF – An hours-long standoff between Dallas Police and a shoplifting suspect came to a peaceful end late Saturday night when the suspect surrendered. He had barricaded himself inside a room at the Lamplighter Motel on I-30 near Buckner Boulevard, after attacking a deputy who tried to arrest him for shoplifting at a nearby Walmart. There’s no word on what he was trying to steal from Walmart, but he now faces charges of assault on a public servant, and trying to steal the deputy’s firearm.
