WACO (WBAP/KLIF News) At least one county south of Dallas is standing behind the proposed bullet train between Dallas and Houston. An official with the Texas Central Railway partnership met yesterday with leaders from both Waco and McLennan county. He answered questions about land use and financing the project. County Judge Scott Felton is on board, along with the Waco City Council. The railway says the impact on landowners would be minimal because existing corridors would be used to build the line. The rail would also be privately funded, relieving taxpayers of any burden. McLennon County says it hopes for a separate line in the future that would likely relieve congestion on I35.
