Arlington ISD Breaks Ground on Major Component of 2014 Bond Program

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Arlington Independent School District broke ground Thursday on one of the largest elements of the 2014 Bond Program.

The Career and Technical Center will be home to high school students learning about a variety of fields.

Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos says there will be several programs to choose from once a student knows what he or she is most interested in.

“Cosmetology, automotive technician, broadcasting, Fire Academy, Police Academy, culinary arts, business accounting, and welding to name some of the programs there” said Dr. Cavazos.

The building, when completed by August of 2017, will hold more than 2,000 students on a given day.

The $663.1-million bond program was approved by voters in 2014.
