“Bayside” District Comes to Rowlett

ROWLETT (WBAP/KLIF News) A beautiful blue lagoon will soon run alongside Lake Ray Hubbard in Rowlett. The area near Interstate 30 and Dalrock will be called “Bayside” and will include more than 1,000,000 square feet of office, retail, restaurant and entertainment space. The 8-acre lagoon will be the size equivalent to about ten football fields of water. The $1B project will increase the tax base by about one third. City manager Brian Funderburk told WFAA it’s time for something like this to come to the suburb. The area is expected to be open for use in 2018.
