Texas AG Takes Aim at McLennan County’s Courthouse Gun Ban

WACO (WBAP/KLIF News) – One county in Central Texas is fighting to keep guns out of the courthouse.

The ban on guns at the McLennan County Courthouse is already in effect, but the state said the county must allow guns in some areas.

County commissioners have said they will pursue legal action if necessary.

State law said local governments cannot ban people from carrying weapons in their facilities, unless those facilities fall into one of several weapon-free zones.
