Arlington to Settle Wrongful Death Lawsuit

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Arlington City Council is expected to approve a settlement that was reached with the family of a man who died after being found unresponsive in jail.

The proposed payout to the estate of Jonathan Paul would amount to $1.25 million.

Paul was arrested in March 2015 on outstanding warrants.

He fought with several jailers in his cell and was pepper sprayed, according to court papers.

Paul died four days later.

Two of the jailers were indicted by a grand jury in Tarrant County on negligent homicide charges.
