Chicken Fight Continues in Irving

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) – Opponents of a proposed ordinance regulating how many chickens homeowners in Irving can have on their property are crying “fowl.”

Another public hearing on the issue was held Tuesday night.

Council is considering allowing six hens per home, but roosters would be banned.

Opponents said the city doesn’t have any business regulating what happens in their backyards.

Supporters of the ordinance argue that having a rooster next door is similar to a barking dog that isn’t controlled.

Council has not set a date for a final vote on the issue.
