CDC: First Male-to-Male Zika Transmission Reported in Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The first case of male-to-male transmission of the Zika virus has been reported in Dallas.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said a man who recently traveled to Venezuela infected his partner upon return home.

Zika is usually transmitted by mosquitoes.  The first case ever reported in North Texas involved the sexual transmission between a male and female.

In all, five cases have been reported in Dallas, three in Tarrant, and one each in Wise and Denton counties.
